Collection: Burkina Faso Bronzes

Artisans in Ougadougou, Burkina Faso, handcraft these beautiful creations from bronze.  These bronzes, which are very elegant, come primarily from the workshop of Issouf Bonkoungou, sculptor and founder of Ouagadougou. Using techniques that have been handed down for generations which deals with oxidation of iron, copper and the coloring of patina’s.  This is otherwise known as the lost wax method.
